Description
Southpaw players often get left with slim pickings, but the Schecter Omen Extreme-FR Left-Handed proves otherwise. This 2010 model pairs a basswood body with a figured, carved maple top finished in Black Cherry, giving it a look that stands out from the usual solid-color crowd. The double-cutaway design isn’t just for show either—it opens up unrestricted access to the upper register of the maple neck.
That neck is topped with a rosewood fingerboard housing 24 extra-jumbo frets, built for speed whether you’re sweeping arpeggios or locking into rhythm work. A Floyd Rose Locking Tremolo handles the whammy bar duties, so you can push into dive bombs and pull off pitch tricks without worrying about your tuning falling apart mid-song.
Tone comes courtesy of dual Schecter Diamond Plus humbuckers, high-output alnico pickups voiced for the kind of aggressive, saturated sound that modern rock and metal players lean on. But they’re not one-trick ponies: a push/pull coil-splitting function on the tone control lets you thin things out into single-coil territory when you want more clarity or bite. Controls stay simple and road-ready—Master Volume, Tone with push/pull splitting, and a 3-way toggle for switching between pickups.
