Description
The Hellraiser C-7 gives seven-string players a stable, sustain-heavy platform for riffing in drop tunings without the neck fighting back. A set neck built from three pieces of mahogany resists warping over time, staying straight through seasonal humidity and temperature swings that would bend a lesser guitar out of tune.
Loaded into the bridge position is an EMG 81-7 active pickup, tuned for tight, articulate low end and a sharp attack that cuts through high-gain amps without turning to mud. Paired with it is a Sustainiac driver/pickup, which switches between a standard humbucker voice and an electromagnetic feedback mode that generates infinite sustain on command — useful for solos that need to hang in the air, or ambient textures that build on themselves. Dedicated mini switches let you flip the Sustainiac on/off and toggle between Normal, Mix, and Harmonic modes, each shifting how the sustained note resolves into fundamentals or upper harmonics.
A rosewood fingerboard sits atop 24 jumbo frets, its natural oils softening stray overtones for a warmer, more fundamental-forward tone than maple. Black Cherry finish models get abalone Gothic cross inlays and matching abalone binding. Grover Rotomatic tuners with an 18:1 ratio keep tuning precise and backlash to a minimum, while the Floyd Rose 1000 Series bridge handles pitch-bending duties without drifting out of tune.
