Description
The ESP LTD EC401 is a 400-series single-cutaway built for guitarists who put tone and playability front and center. A mahogany body pairs with a 3-piece mahogany set-thru neck, giving the guitar sustain and low-end punch while keeping the upper frets easy to reach thanks to the smooth heel joint. The pau ferro fingerboard, cut with a 350mm radius across 24 XJ frets, feels fast under the hand and suits everything from chunky riffing to legato runs.
Tonal duties are handled by EMG’s 81 in the bridge and 60 in the neck, both active pickups wired through a Vol/Vol/Tone/Toggle layout for quick switching between searing lead tones and warmer rhythm textures. A Tune-O-Matic bridge and tailpiece keep tuning stable under aggressive playing, and Grover tuners on the headstock hold pitch reliably string change after string change. The thin U-shaped neck contour and 42mm nut width strike a comfortable balance for players moving between chords and solos.
This particular EC401 comes in a satin-free Black finish with matching black hardware, and ships strung with D’Addario XL110 strings (.010-.046). It comes straight from our secured guitar vault after setup, meaning the exact instrument pictured is what arrives at your door – inspected, adjusted, and carefully packed.
