Description
The Custom 24 is the guitar that put PRS on the map back in 1985, and the SE Custom 24-08 carries that legacy forward while pushing into fresh tonal territory. It keeps every hallmark of the original design intact, then adds two mini-toggle coil-tap switches — mirroring the Core Series approach — that split each humbucker into a true single coil. The result is eight usable pickup configurations from just two pickups, giving you humbucker punch and single-coil sparkle in one instrument.
Under the finish, the fundamentals are all here: a maple top with flame maple veneer over a mahogany back, shaped with a shallow violin carve. The maple neck wears a Wide Thin profile and meets a rosewood fretboard loaded with 24 frets across a 25″ scale, dressed in PRS’s classic “Old School” bird inlays. The signature headstock logo and a “Custom” truss rod cover round out the look.
Hardware includes PRS’s patented molded tremolo bridge and PRS-designed tuners, finished in nickel for a clean, vintage-leaning aesthetic. Electronics are handled by TCI “S” Treble and Bass pickups, wired to a volume and tone control, a 3-way toggle pickup switch, and those two coil-tap mini-toggles.
