Description
The SE Paul’s Guitar is PRS’s way of putting genuine Core-line thinking into a more attainable package. At the heart of it are the TCI “S” treble and bass pickups, paired with two mini-toggle switches tucked between the volume and tone knobs. Flip them and you can drop either pickup (or both) into true single-coil mode, pulling out vintage-style bite and sparkle that most humbucker-loaded guitars simply can’t touch. It’s a feature previously reserved for PRS Private Stock and Core models, making its first appearance in the SE Series here.
PRS COO Jack Higginbotham summed up the intent behind this build: the tone, feel, and consistency all had to live up to the Paul’s Guitar name before it could carry the SE badge. The result is a guitar that plays and responds like something well above its price point.
The body pairs a carved maple top with flame maple veneer over a mahogany back, finished in Faded Blue Burst. The mahogany neck wears a Wide Fat profile with a rosewood fretboard, 22 frets, a 25″ scale length, and PRS’s signature bird inlays. Hardware includes vintage-style tuners and the same machined stoptail bridge with brass inserts found on the Core Paul’s Guitar, all finished in nickel.
