Description
The JPXI represents the next chapter in Ernie Ball Music Man’s collaboration with John Petrucci, merging the best design elements of the original JPX and the coveted BFR signature models into one cohesive instrument. At the heart of this update is a reworked neck: a symmetric, extra-slim mahogany profile with a flatter 20″ radius and stainless steel medium jumbo frets, topped with an ebony fingerboard for fast, effortless playability across all 24 frets.
Underneath, the non-chambered alder body pairs with a maple top and mahogany Tone Block for a punchy, resonant foundation built for demanding rock and metal playing. Electronics follow the JP BFR blueprint, with dual 3-way toggles giving precise control over the Custom DiMarzio LiquiFire (neck) and Crunch Lab (bridge) humbuckers plus a piezo bridge pickup – letting you blend magnetic crunch with acoustic-like piezo shimmer or switch between them entirely.
Finished in a deep Onyx gloss with Mother of Pearl inlays and chrome hardware, this 7-string version brings extended low-end range without sacrificing the comfort or articulation Petrucci demands from his signature line.
