Description
Ibanez built the RG line’s reputation on speed, and the RGMS7BK pushes that further with a multi scale (fanned fret) layout stretched across seven strings. The extended 27″ scale on the low B tightens up string tension for punchier low end, while the 25.5″ scale on the high E keeps lead lines fluid and familiar. Because the frets angle across the board, your fretting hand naturally falls into a more comfortable position as you move up and down the neck instead of fighting a straight fret line.
The Wizard III-7 neck is a 5-piece Maple/Walnut design made for this multi scale build, mated to a mahogany body for a solid, resonant foundation. A Jatoba fretboard adds reddish-brown warmth to the tone profile, pushing forward midrange with a crisp top end, and it’s fitted with jumbo frets plus white split off-set dot inlays so you can track your position at a glance.
Bridge duties go to a Mono-rail design, isolating each string’s vibration from its neighbors for cleaner separation when you’re stacking chords or running fast lines across all seven strings. Loaded with the Array-7 MS humbucker set (passive, ceramic) in both neck and bridge positions, this guitar is voiced for aggressive playing without losing note clarity. Hardware is finished in Cosmo black to match the all-black aesthetic.
