The G6129T-59 Vintage Select Edition revives Gretsch’s late-1950s Silver Jet, the sparkle-finished sibling of the famed Duo Jet, built for players who want vintage character without vintage fragility. Under that shimmering finish sits a chambered mahogany body with an arched laminated maple top, a construction that lets air move between top and back for a resonant, air-fueled tone with real harmonic depth rather than a dense slab feel.
A mahogany neck carved in a vintage “V” profile meets a 24.6″ scale ebony fingerboard with a 12″ radius, aged pearloid thumbnail inlays, and 22 medium jumbo frets — a comfortable, period-correct playing feel. Aged white binding on both body and neck adds a subtle nod to decades of wear on original units.
Dual TV Jones Classic pickups recreate the original Filter’Tron voice this Jet made famous in 1959: punchy, chimey, and articulate, with enough bite for rockabilly leads and enough warmth for jazzy chording. A 3-position toggle and 3-position tone switch, plus independent volume controls for each pickup and a master volume, give quick access to a wide tonal range. The Space Control bridge and Grover Sta-Tite tuners keep intonation and tuning stable, while the Bigsby vibrato adds pitch-shifting flair without sacrificing tuning integrity.
