Description
The D-240E carries forward one of Guild’s oldest tricks: an arched mahogany back that eliminates the need for back braces, trimming weight while pushing more volume and sustain out of the body. Paired with a solid Sitka spruce top and mahogany sides, it delivers the big, balanced dreadnought voice Guild has been known for since its Westerly, Rhode Island factory days.
The mahogany neck wears a Slim C profile with a 16" radius rosewood fingerboard, bone nut, and compensated bone saddle at the rosewood bridge—details aimed at smooth playability and clean intonation up and down the 25 1/2" scale. A pearloid rosette and period-correct tortoiseshell pickguard nod to vintage Guild styling, finished off in a low-glare matte polyurethane coat.
Plugged in, the built-in Guild AP-1 active acoustic piezo pickup gets you from living room to stage without a struggle, and it ships with Guild’s lightweight deluxe gig bag for easy transport.
