Description
The G9400 Broadkaster Deluxe brings back the golden-era feel of early Gretsch banjos while updating the build for today’s picker. Refreshed for 2014 with a Remo Renaissance head and bone nut, it delivers crisp attack and a warm, articulate voice suited to bluegrass, old-time, and folk styles alike.
The mahogany neck carries a vintage “U” profile and a rosewood fingerboard fitted with newly designed high-contrast snowflake inlays, including the classic B&D marker at the 12th fret. Underneath, a three-ply solid maple rim and zinc-alloy tone ring shape the tone, while the mahogany resonator—dressed with decorative inlay—projects sound forward for extra volume on stage or at the jam circle.
Chrome hardware throughout includes 24 brackets, a one-piece flange, notched steel tension hoop, die-cast geared machine heads, and a geared 5th-string tuner for quick, accurate tuning. The “Presto”-style tailpiece and dual coordinating rods round out a build meant for stability and easy setup adjustments.
