Description
The Gretsch G9126 bridges the gap between guitar and ukulele, giving six-string players an easy entry point into uke playing without relearning fingerings. Tuned “A” to “A” using standard guitar intervals, it opens the door to extended-range uke arrangements and works especially well for younger or smaller-handed players who want a comfortable, scaled-down instrument.
Built with tone and durability in mind, the G9126 features a solid quartersawn mahogany top paired with mahogany back and sides for a warm, resonant voice. The one-piece mahogany neck is fitted with a bone nut and topped with a 19-fret ovangkol fingerboard, decorated with classic “snowflake” position markers along a 17″ scale length. Down at the bridge, an ovangkol base holds a bone saddle for clean, articulate string transfer.
Tuning stability comes courtesy of Grover Sta-Tite tuners, keeping your uke chords in check even after heavy strumming sessions. The whole instrument is finished in an “open pore” semi-gloss Honey Mahogany Stain, giving it a rich, natural look that shows off the mahogany grain.
