Description
The Acousticaster is Godin’s answer to a common studio problem: acoustic tone that plays like an electric. Its two-chamber mahogany body carries a solid spruce top under a natural high-gloss finish, giving it a resonant voice while keeping the slim, familiar handling guitarists expect from a solidbody. The rosewood neck and fingerboard are shaped for comfort across a 25 1/2″ scale, 1 11/16″ nut, and 12″ fingerboard radius, so chord work and lead lines feel natural whether you’re tracking or gigging.
What sets this guitar apart is its dual-source electronics. A Custom Godin under-saddle transducer captures the acoustic character of the top and body, while the Godin GJN1 mini-humbucker adds an electric edge for grittier tones or added sustain. Independent controls let you shape each source separately: a custom preamp handles overall volume, mid, treble, and bass, while the humbucker gets its own volume, treble, and bass. Two output jacks — one for the blended acoustic/electric signal, one dedicated to electric — give you flexibility in how you route the sound live or in the studio.
