Tim Armstrong built his songwriting career around a battered Fender concert acoustic, and this signature Hellcat model translates that raw punk energy into a guitar anyone can pick up and play. This unit is a gently used store demo, so expect light cosmetic wear consistent with in-store handling, but full playability and tone intact.
The solid mahogany top with scalloped X bracing gives the Hellcat a warm, resonant voice with real projection – the scalloping shaves down bracing mass so the top vibrates more freely than on a standard-braced acoustic. Laminated mahogany back and sides keep that woody warmth consistent, and the satin-finished maple neck with a comfortable “C” profile makes fast chord changes and barre work feel effortless.
Plugged in, the Fishman Isys III system handles amplification duties with an active onboard preamp, volume and tone controls, and a built-in tuner mounted where you can actually see it on stage. A rosewood bridge with a compensated Graph Tech NuBone saddle keeps intonation accurate across the fretboard.
Cosmetically, this is unmistakably an Armstrong signature piece: Hellcat inlays and double-skull inlays at the 12th fret, a tortoise shell pickguard, cream body binding, a black-painted headstock, and Armstrong’s own signature on the truss rod cover.
