Description
The FA-345CE takes Fender’s auditorium body and dresses it up with a flame maple top, lacewood back and sides, and a slice of tortoiseshell binding running around the edges for good measure. The smaller-than-dreadnought shape keeps notes articulate and focused, so fingerstyle passages and strummed chords both come through clearly rather than turning into mush.
Lacewood is the interesting choice here — it shares mahogany’s warmth but adds a snappier, more responsive edge, which pairs nicely with the brightness the maple top brings to the table. The neck contributes a lively, resonant character of its own, making the guitar feel just as good under the fingers as it looks on a stand. A Graph Tech TUSQ nut and rosewood fingerboard with pearloid keystone inlays round out the playing feel, while the modern 3+3 headstock and Viking bridge give it a slightly vintage-leaning silhouette.
Plug in and the onboard Fishman electronics take over, translating the guitar’s acoustic voice to a PA or amp without piling on artificial coloration — just volume, bass, and treble controls to shape things on the fly. Open-back geared tuners and chrome hardware keep tuning stable and everything looking sharp.
