Built on the same platform as Godin’s SA, the Multiac Nylon Duet swaps in a rosewood fingerboard and adds the L.R. Baggs I-Beam Duet system, giving players a hybrid instrument that bridges classical nylon-string feel with the practicality of a stage-ready electric. Plug it in and you get tone that leans closer to a well-placed condenser mic on a full-bodied acoustic than a typical piezo-loaded electric-classical.
At the heart of the amplified sound is L.R. Baggs’ integrated Duet electronics package, combining an under-saddle transducer with an internal condenser microphone and a refined onboard preamp. That dual-source setup lets you blend the immediacy of the under-saddle pickup with the natural air and body the mic captures, all shaped through the preamp before it hits the output stage. For routing to the board, there’s a standard 1/4″ output alongside a balanced XLR jack with phantom power support, so it plays nicely with mixers, DI boxes, and mic preamps alike.
Underneath the electronics, this is a genuine playing instrument first. The chambered mahogany body carries a solid spruce top for resonance and warmth, while the mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard offer a familiar, comfortable feel for players moving between steel-string, classical, and electric guitars.
