Description
Schecter’s Reaper-7 Multiscale is aimed squarely at players who need extended range without sacrificing playability. The multi-scale layout runs from 25.5″ up to 27″, giving the low strings extra tension for clarity in drop tunings while the higher strings stay comfortable and easy to bend. That fanned-fret design sits on an ebony fingerboard with 24 narrow X-Jumbo frets and a 20″ radius, all mounted to a maple/walnut multi-ply neck reinforced with carbon fiber rods for long-term stability.
The body pairs a swamp ash core with a burl top, a combination chosen for its resonance and figured visual character, finished here in Satin Charcoal Burst. Schecter’s set-neck construction with Ultra Access carve opens up the upper frets for unobstructed soloing, while the Ultra Thin “C” neck shape keeps the profile fast under the hand.
Powering the guitar are two Schecter Diamond Decimator humbuckers, voiced hot enough for saturated metal rhythm tones but responsive enough to clean up for fusion and rock lead work. Controls are kept simple: a volume knob, a push-pull tone control for coil-splitting versatility, and a 3-way switch. A Hipshot hardtail bridge with string-thru-body construction and Hipshot tuners handle tuning stability and sustain, while a graphite nut reduces friction at the headstock.
