Description
The Gretsch G9100 Soprano Standard brings back the warm, woody character that made soprano ukuleles a staple of parlor rooms and beach porches alike. All-mahogany construction—top, back, and sides—gives this little instrument a rounded, sweet voice with plenty of midrange presence, finished off in a Vintage Mahogany Stain that nods to classic uke aesthetics.
Scaled to the traditional 13.5″ soprano length, the mahogany neck pairs with an ovangkol fingerboard housing 16 frets, 12 of which sit clear of the body for full melodic range. An ovangkol bridge complements the fingerboard, while a bone nut and saddle help translate string vibration into clear, well-defined tone.
Tuning stability comes courtesy of open-back geared tuners, a nice step up from friction pegs for players who want to stay in tune without constant fiddling. Aquila Nylgut strings come installed from the factory, offering a tone and feel that many players consider closer to traditional gut strings than standard nylon.
