Description
The G5422TG takes everything great about Electromatic hollow bodies and dresses it up in a striking white-and-gold finish that turns heads before you even plug in. Built from 5-ply maple with parallel tone bar bracing and an internal sound post, it delivers the airy, resonant voice hollow body players chase, while staying tight enough for stage and studio work alike.
Dual Black Top Filter’Tron humbuckers supply that signature Gretsch sparkle and chime, punchy on the bridge pickup, warm and rounded through the neck unit, with a 3-position toggle to blend or isolate them. A master volume wired with a treble-bleed circuit keeps your tone consistent as you roll the knob back, joined by individual volume controls for each pickup and a master tone knob for shaping the overall voice.
The maple neck wears a comfortable “U” profile with a rosewood fingerboard, 12″ radius, and 22 medium jumbo frets, all set to a 24.6″ scale for easy bends and vintage-correct feel. A Graph Tech NuBone nut and the smaller late-’50s-style G6120 bound headstock add both function and pedigree, while pearloid Hump-Block inlays and oversized bound F holes round out the aged, multi-ply body binding aesthetic.
Gold hardware ties the whole look together, from the Adjusto-Matic bridge on its secured rosewood base to the vintage-style open-back tuners and the Gold Bigsby B60 vibrato that lets you dive into shimmering, pitch-bent chords.
