Description
L.R. Baggs built the Session DI after countless hours tracking acoustic guitars in top-tier studios for their Handcrafted Video Sessions series. Rather than just buffering your signal, this pedal reshapes it with the same tonal tricks engineers reach for behind the board—then packs it into a rugged stompbox you can run live or plug straight into a mixer.
At its core is a custom analog saturation circuit voiced specifically for acoustic instruments, adding harmonic depth and a touch of warmth that plain DI boxes can’t replicate. Paired with it is a three-band Compression EQ that behaves less like a traditional compressor and more like a set of dynamic, touch-responsive filters—each band reacting to how hard you play, softening trouble spots in the low, mid, and high ranges without flattening your natural dynamics.
- Analog saturation adds studio-style warmth and harmonic richness
- Three-band Compression EQ tames problem frequencies in real time based on playing dynamics
- Garret Null notch filter cuts resonant feedback
- Variable high-pass filter trims unwanted low-end rumble
- Onboard VU meter helps dial in proper gain for passive or active pickups
- Ground lift switch kills ground-loop hum
- Fully discrete signal path with both XLR and 1/4" outputs
- Runs on 48V phantom power, a 9V battery, or 9V DC adapter
- Durable aluminum, steel, and ABS housing built for the road
- Mute footswitch silences both 1/4" and XLR outputs
- Ships with a custom L.R. Baggs carrying case
Whether you’re plugging into a house PA or your own acoustic amp, the Session DI gives your pickup a fuller, more polished voice—without demanding a rack of outboard gear to get there.
