The Multiac Nylon Duet shares its silhouette and playability with Godin’s SA model, but sets itself apart with a rosewood fingerboard and the L.R. Baggs I-Beam Duet system—an electronics package introduced in 2002 that changed what players could expect from a plugged-in nylon-string guitar.
Instead of relying on a single pickup, the Duet system blends an under-saddle transducer with an internal condenser microphone, run through a sophisticated onboard preamp. The result is an amplified voice with the depth and air normally reserved for close-micing a full-body acoustic in a studio. For live use, Godin gives you both a standard 1/4″ output and a balanced XLR jack with phantom power support, so you can plug straight into a DI or mixer with mic-level fidelity.
Underneath the electronics is a well-built acoustic instrument in its own right: a chambered mahogany body topped with solid spruce, a mahogany neck, and a 25 1/2″ scale with a 1 7/8″ nut width that feels familiar to steel-string players moving into nylon-string territory. The 16″ fingerboard radius keeps chord and single-note lines comfortable across the neck.
