The Sonoran SCE brings Fender’s Southern California heritage to life in a cutaway dreadnought built for players who want vintage character alongside modern stage-readiness. A solid spruce top with scalloped X bracing pairs with laminated mahogany back and sides, giving the guitar a lively, projecting voice that still has room to open up over time.
Fender leans into the retro details here: a painted headstock shaped like a Stratocaster’s, a checkerboard rosette, multiple body bindings, and a vintage-style “Viking” bridge all nod to the brand’s classic look. The three-ply pickguard adds another layer of period-correct style, while a bone nut and compensated bone saddle on the rosewood bridge deliver clarity and sustain that synthetic parts can’t quite match.
The vintage C-shaped maple neck feels substantial without being bulky, running to a 25.5″ scale and 1.625″ nut width across a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays. A dual-action truss rod keeps setup adjustments straightforward. Plugged in, the Fishman Isys III system with active onboard preamp puts volume, bass, mid, and treble control right at your fingertips, along with a built-in tuner and low battery indicator — no fumbling for a separate tuner before you go on.
Finished in gloss black with chrome hardware, the Sonoran SCE also includes a forward-mounted strap button with internal block reinforcement, so you can gig with it confidently from day one.
