Description
Twelve strings mean twice the shimmer, and this Balladeer delivers it with a hand-selected AA-grade solid spruce top and scalloped bracing that lets the wood breathe and project. Ovation built it on their Contour Bowl body, a design that trades the boxiness of a traditional acoustic for a rounded, ergonomic shape that sits naturally against the body whether you’re standing or seated, while still pushing plenty of acoustic volume on its own.
The cutaway isn’t just for looks — it opens up the satin-finished, 5-piece mahogany/maple neck for real access to the upper frets, which matters more than usual on a 12-string where reaching those notes cleanly can be a challenge. Around the soundhole, Ovation dressed things up with an oak-leaf rosette inlaid with mother-of-pearl, a detail that gives the guitar some visual character beyond the usual acoustic look.
Plug in and the OP-Pro preamp paired with the OCP-1K pickup handles the demands of a 12-string’s dense string count without turning muddy or brittle, giving you a plugged-in tone that actually translates well to a PA or amp. It’s a guitar built for players who want the layered richness of 12 strings without sacrificing stage usability.
