Guild has been building jumbo acoustics since 1954, and the F-2512E Westerly puts that pedigree to work in a 12-string format. The large, rounded jumbo body pairs with a solid Sitka spruce top and maple back and sides to produce the bright, chiming character 12-strings are known for, while Guild’s arched back construction adds real punch, sustain, and low-end depth that flat-backed designs can’t match.
Playability gets just as much attention as tone here. The mahogany neck wears a Slim C profile with a 25 1/2″ scale and 1 7/8″ nut, so the extra string tension of a 12-string feels manageable rather than fatiguing. A rosewood fingerboard and bridge, bone nut and compensated bone saddle, and pearloid dot inlays round out a build that looks and plays like a much pricier instrument.
Guild’s own AP-1 active acoustic piezo pickup lets you take that jumbo 12-string voice straight to the board or amp without fuss. Cosmetic touches include a pearloid rosette, a period-correct tortoiseshell pickguard, white ABS body binding with black/white top purfling, and a matte polyurethane finish that keeps the look understated and vintage-correct.
