The G9311 New Yorker Supreme takes Gretsch’s long-running mandolin design and preps it for amplified work without losing the woody, midrange-forward voice players expect from this body style. Top, back, and sides are all solid mahogany, carved into an arched shape and braced with a single tone bar, while the mahogany neck carries a rosewood fingerboard dressed with pearloid dot markers. Ivory binding wraps the body, neck, and headstock for a tidy, vintage-correct look, finished off in an antique semi-gloss vintage sunburst.
What sets the Supreme apart is the electronics: a Fishman M-300 Nashville piezo-ceramic element is embedded directly in the ebony, height-adjustable compensated bridge saddle, so you get a natural acoustic signal without a soundhole pickup or internal mic. The vintage-style clamshell tailpiece and nickel-plated hardware keep the aesthetic period-correct, while Grover Sta-Tite tuning machines with aged white plastic buttons hold pitch reliably on the road.
